Jean-Ellen Johnston-Rogers, age 48, passed away surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and connection that will live on in all who knew her.
Jean-Ellen was a woman whose heart was as generous as it was strong. She loved her family and friends deeply and had an extraordinary gift for bringing people together. Helping others came naturally to her, whether through a listening ear, a shared laugh, or a simple act of kindness.
Laughter followed Jean-Ellen wherever she went, and she had an effortless way of making people smile. She was instantly lovable, and her presence made life feel lighter and brighter.
Her soul was both loving and resilient. Jean-Ellen faced life with courage, grace, and an open heart, and she shared those qualities freely. Even in difficult moments, she never lost her warmth or her sense of humor. She had a way of turning ordinary moments into joyful ones and reminding others of what truly mattered.
Above all else, Jean-Ellen cherished her family. She shared a deep and devoted bond with her husband, Brian, and was a loving and proud mother to her children, Carley, Andrew, and Eric, who were the center of her world. Her love for them was unwavering, and her strength was often rooted in that love.
Jean-Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, Jean-Ellen Walters-Johnston and Andrew Johnston. She is survived by her husband, Brian Rogers; her children, Carley, Andrew, and Eric Rogers; her siblings, Darren Johnston and Danielle Johnston-Cohen; and many extended family members and dear friends who will forever feel her absence.
Jean-Ellen faced pancreatic cancer with remarkable courage, strength, and grace. Through it all, she remained herself, loving, strong, and full of laughter, continuing to bring light to those around her.
Though her time here was far too short, Jean-Ellen’s impact was profound. She will be remembered for her kindness, her laughter, her ability to connect people, and the love she gave so freely. Her spirit will live on in the stories shared, the smiles she inspired, and the hearts she touched.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
Family and friends are invited to attend her visitation and funeral on Monday February 16, St. Jerome Catholic Church (8100 Colfax St. Philadelphia, PA 19136) You may visit and comfort Jean-Ellen’s family from 9:00 am-11:00 am in church. There will be a funeral mass starting 11:00 am. Further arrangements will be held in private by her family. Please omit flowers and kindly consider donations in Jean-Ellen’s memory to Breathing Room Foundation

Jeanellen, I don’t think this will ever feel real. Thank God for memories, we have a lifetime of those. Thank you for your friendship and love all these years. Jean-Ellen was the brightest light in so many lives. Her fight for survival was like no other. The love for her family and friends were immeasurable. I am deeply grateful I was able to visit her twice within a year. I will cherish that time forever. Sending my love to Philadelphia
