Betty Jane Hoenigke

Betty Jane Hoenigke died peacefully on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, in Philadelphia surrounded by family. A resident of Yardley, PA, for almost 40 years, and most recently of Northeast Philadelphia, Betty was born in 1932 and raised in Milwaukee, WI. A homemaker for most of her adult life, she was a devoted wife to her husband of 39 years and a loving mother to six children. She also worked for the Grey Nuns Academy in Yardley, PA, for many years, where she helped prepare and serve meals for its residents. Betty was a longtime member of the Morrisville Presbyterian Church of Morrisville, PA, where she sang in the choir and played in the bell choir. Betty enjoyed spending time with her children and grandkids, was a gardening enthusiast, and for many years was a member of a Morrisville bowling league that met weekly. Betty loved her many dogs and cats. She was also an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan. 

She was predeceased by her parents, Harold and Jane Meier, her husband, Robert Hoenigke, her sister, Gloria Bowles, and brother, Harold Meier, Jr. She is survived by 6 children and their spouses; Thomas (Victoria) of Langhorne, PA, Michael (Valerie) of Ewing NJ, Lisa of Los Lunas, NM, Robert of Morrisville, PA, Sheryl of Bristol, PA, and David of Philadelphia, PA. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren; Ashley, Drew, Elizabeth, Danalyn, Carisma, Consuelo, and Jarod, and two great-grandchildren, Hettie and Avery, and many nephews and nieces.
