Sandra Quiles

In Loving Memory of Sandra Quiles
December 2, 1966 ~ May 17, 2025

Sandra Ivelisse was born on December 2, 1966 in Ponce, Puerto Rico to Pablo Robles and Paula Santiago. The youngest of 11 children, she moved with her family to North Philadelphia in 1967. She was raised in a lively household, filled with love, music and laughter.

Sandra is survived by her siblings, Nilda, Ermis, Wildredo, Pablo, Lourdes and Migdalia. She now joins her beloved siblings Mildred, Miriam, Angel and Jose in the presence of the Lord.

A talented and outgoing student, Sandra shined during her years at Mastbaum Highschool. She sang in the choir, was a member of the AirForce ROTC, and a pitcher for the softball team. Always a trailblazer, she was the first female student to graduate from the school’s sheet metal program. Sandra graduated in 1984 and continued her education at Penn State University.

In 1990, Sandra met the love of her life, Vincent Quiles. Together for over 35 years, they built a life filled with love, laughter and faith. They were blessed with three children – Sofia, Denisse and Vincent Jr. – and two beautiful grandchildren, Elian and Jazz, who were the light of her life.

Sandra was a very loyal and diligent worker. She worked in banking for over 14 years before transitioning to the healthcare field. She served faithfully in medical billing at Esperanza Health Center for 13 years. Sandra’s passion for justice and service was evident in every aspect of her life. She served in various ministries over the years and was a devoted member of Iglesia Evangelica Bautista, where she used her beautiful voice to honor the Lord.

Sandra was the heart of our family – a woman of strength, compassion and unwavering love. Her devotion to her family and her warm generous spirit touched all who knew her. Her legacy of compassion, faith and perseverance will continue to live on in the lives she impacted.

We will cherish her memory forever.

I’ve known Sandra since I was a little boy. I’ll always remember her tough and take no nonsense attitude. She was never afraid to speak her mind and what she felt. She could be sweet and caring as well and I will remember after giving a sermon at church and my heart was aching over a decision my wife and I would have to make, I shared it from the pulpit and in my distress, she led the church to pray for me and she was the first to lay her hand on my shoulder and pray. I will never forget her act of compassion. I will miss you my friend😢

Being Sandra's niece was a privilege for me; she represented much more than merely an aunt. She was my defender, cheerleader and friend. Back in the day, she would invite me to hang out in her room. She showed me how to braid my hair, we sang together, and she even tried to teach me how to harmonize. Titi Sandra was all about loyalty and family; she loved deeply and held herself to high standards. She truly embodied the woman of Proverbs 31; I know her husband and kids looked up to her and called her blessed. I'll miss so many moments, like the Thanksgiving after parties or texting her during church, singing in the choir with her, cracking up over silly stuff, watching her react when Tio told a joke, or just seeing her interact with Elian from across the balcony. I admired her so much and loved her a great deal. I know I'll see her again in heaven.

Sandra made it easy to love her. Her personality gleamed. I can remember Sandra staying on the phone with me keeping me company as I had long drives going out of town. We always talked about our Lord and Savior. I was invited to several church functions by Sandra where I always enjoyed meeting with her church family. I still have Christmas gifts from Sandra one of which gives the meaning of my name as we share the same name. Sandy means “helper to man kind”. That was one of Sandra’s attributes. Always willing to help. She will always remain in my heart. I always celebrate her in December, remembering her birthday. I love you Sandra and always will. ❤️🙏🏽

Sandra and I shared a 50 year friendship. We went to the same schools and same church. Although at times she lived in different places our friendship remained. Sandra sang at church and in open air meetings . She had an Angelic voice. I can still hear her singing “Part The Waters Lord” Her Faith was amazing! What I will miss most is that she always said “I love you “. She never hesitated to express her feelings. To Vincent, Sofia, VJ. Thank you. I know it was difficult for all of you but you did all you could to show your love and care for her. It was amazing. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Friends forever, Daisy.

Sandra, you left a legacy in Esperanza, a strong and self-confident woman. I know God is proud of your courage and how you impacted others. An example of compassion in the midst of the storm. My prayers are with the family, especially her husband and children. Sofia, always remember her with pride, for the mother you had. Be happy and enjoy life, because I know that was your mother's most sincere wish for you.

In 1990 I met the love of my life, the mother of my children and the grandmother of my grandkids. Sandra was beautiful, intelligent and driven. We were together for over 35 years, and if I've had any measure of success, it was solely because of her. You see, she was my gift from God, and He gave me exactly what I needed to be succesful in this life. Because of her we were financially, emotionally, and professionally succesful. We raised two wonderful children and we saw our family expand with two awsome grandkids. I hope I learned all the leasons she tought me so that I can carry on without without her. I will miss her every second of every day, until it is my turn to go and I reunite with her. I feel loss right now, but I am sure I will find my way. I hope it is a way that would make her happy and proud of me. I certainly feel proud of having been her husband, adventures partner, best friend for a while. Gone too soon, and I miss you so dearly. I love you Babelicious, mi Chuleria, for ever.

Sandra and I attended Penn State University (PSU) at the same time. I remember driving up to State College, PA with her family. That first night in her freshman year we walked around campus and I explained the good and bad of college. Since those days at PSU, Sandra and I have been very good friends. We Are! Penn State!

Thank you for setting that bar high when it came to being professional.
