Patrick Charles Brooks
Patrick Brooks, formerly of the Mayfair section of Philadelphia, passed away on August 16, 2026, at age 51. Beloved husband of Tracie (nee Rypinski). Loving brother of James Brooks (Jackie Funk). Son of Larry Brooks and the late, Janet Brooks. Devoted son-in-law of Dennis and Debbie Rypinski. Patrick will be lovingly missed by his four legged buddy, Marshmallow. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws. Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation and funeral on Monday August 24th from 9:30 am – 10:30 am in St. Timothy Catholic Church, 3001 Levick St. There will be a funeral mass starting at 10:30 am. Further arrangements will be held at the convenience of the family.
Such a beautiful tribute to Patrick today! I’ll always remember Patrick as the smiling freckle faced boy who entered my classroom at Saint Tim’s in 1984. He certainly made a lasting impression. The Class of ‘89 holds a special place in my heart. “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God.” My heart and prayers go out to Tracie and all who loved Patrick. 💚
Tracie, my sincere condolences to you and your family. Pat Brooks was one of the nicest humans I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. If Pat considered you a friend, he loved you, and you knew it. I'm thankful that Pat considered me a friend, and I will miss him. He fought an amazing battle with Tracie by his side, and their Love was beautiful to see. Tracie, thank you for being an amazing partner and sharing Pat with the rest of us.
I’m so very sorry to hear about Patrick. He was truly the smiling face of 191 and was always willing to help whenever he was needed. He will be deeply missed. Hearing about Patrick’s passing is heartbreaking. Being actual birthday twins meant we shared a unique bond—and looking back at our joint 21st birthday party, we probably shared a few too many drinks and terrible fashion choices, too. 51 is just way too young to lose such a bright light. I consider myself blessed to be a small portion of your life, I thought of you & Tracie often and kept you in my daily prayers.
It's difficult to put into words, how you and I were to each other. My oldest Friend. From finger sandwich lunches in the Meyers (Made by Cass) household, (some of my earliest memories). GI Joe and Transformers in the back of Hawthorne Street. To our more recent days at the track. Just sitting there picking the next exacta winner. Uncle Brooksie created more of those little moments than you could imagine.
The entire 191 family is grieving. I’m thinking of the evenings of your last day before Christmas Eve and how you would always join me and my husband for a celebration of the season. What fun we had!
