John “Jack” Connelly

John “Jack” Connelly, 72, of Wildwood, NJ, formerly of Philadelphia, PA, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2025.

Born on February 5, 1953, to Hugh and Dorothy (Murphy) Connelly, Jack grew up in Tacony alongside his brother, Hugh Connelly Jr. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. After his service, he built a lifelong career in the auto body industry, owning and operating Jack Connelly Collision for over 40 years.

Jack was a devoted husband to his wife, Denise (Herron) Connelly, and a loving father to his children: Jessica Domanski (David Domanski), Jason Fenstermaker (Denise O’Malley), and Christine Connelly. He was also a proud Poppy to five grandchildren (Addison, Emma, Jameson, Kane, Ty). Jack grew up surrounded by many cousins, forming bonds and friendships that lasted his entire life. Jack was also a cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews. Family was always at the center of who he was, and those relationships were deeply important to him.

Known for his kindness, compassion, and generosity, Jack would drop everything to help family and friends in need. He loved people, and his warm spirit left an impression on everyone who knew him. Jack especially enjoyed time at the beach and could often be heard playing his favorite Frank Sinatra songs.

He will be remembered not only for his dedication to his family and friends but also for his genuine love of life and the joy he brought to others.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at this link.

Jack’s legacy of love, loyalty, and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him.

What can I say about Jack? He was a great man. He always took the time to ask me how my life was going. I was always greeted with a “hey Parksy”, every time I walked into his home or ran into him. I have a love for his whole family, and they all know that. My blessings are with you all, and when I get to the gates I’ll be looking for my “hey Parksy” for sure.

Jack was a very funny guy that I met back in the early 80’s at his shop. My buddy Richie Ryczk worked there and we would hang out in the early evening laughing and talking. As the years passed both my Dad and brother Barry would stop in and talk to Jack and Hugh at least once a week. I moved out of the neighborhood but was absolutely amazed when I met Jack and Denise at the Carroll’s house 20 years ago. We last talked about 6 months ago when he telling me all about life in Wildwood. Prayers and condolences for his family. 🙏❤️.

Jack was—and always will be—remembered as one of the most genuine men I’ve ever known. I feel incredibly blessed to have grown up with him and his family in my life for over 20 years. From his colorful stories to his endless patience—driving us anywhere at any time (always at his own pace), making us breakfast, picking up Pine Hill Tavern wings, and letting us girls take over the house during our high school years—Jack did it all without a single complaint. Even in our adult years, he happily played our personal Uber, never once uttering a negative word. Jack’s kind and endearing heart left a mark on everyone who knew him. He will be remembered always, and missed deeply.
