When I was a little girl, Aunt Joan would dress me up in her nightgowns and tell me I was a princess. In those playful moments she gave me something much more than make believe. She made me feel loved, special, and seen. That was her gift. She had a beautiful way of making the people around her feel important. She had the most wonderful laugh and a warm sense of humor that could fill a room with joy. Being with her meant laughter, kindness, and love. After 83 beautiful years, she is now at rest and reunited with the love of her life, my Uncle Raymond. It brings me comfort to imagine them together again. Aunt Joan, thank you for the magic you gave me as a child and for the love you shared so freely throughout your life. I will always remember the little princess you helped me believe I was. My dearest Aunt and Godmother. my cheerleader and supporter, you will always be loved and cherished.
