James Walter Gentekos, Jr.
James Walter Gentekos Jr., 82, passed away on October 28, 2026. Beloved husband to
Lillian (deceased), devoted father of Donna-Marie (Fred), Angelina, and James III (Kelli),
cherished grandfather of Antoinette, Nicholas, Gia, Alanna, and Anthony. Son of the late James
Walter Gentekos Sr. and Angelina (Brando) Gentekos. Brother of Annette (deceased), George
(deceased), Richard, Tommy, and Maryann.
Jimmy was a proud U.S. Army veteran, but he spent most of his life as a carpenter, building
casinos and Wawas. If you sat down with him, you were going to hear about three things:
playing baseball, the drive to Vegas, and his years in the Army. He never ran out of stories, and
he never minded if you’d heard them before.
Family and friends are welcome to gather on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at McCafferty
Funeral & Cremation Inc., 6709-11 Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania PA (between Unruh & Knorr
Sts). A prayer service will begin at 12:45 p.m., followed by inurnment at Washington Crossing
National Cemetery.
