Rod was the one soldier that made me the Sgt I am today, him being my hype man and always following directions and learning everything I taught him, to a T, I always knew he had my back. Even now I think about when I get SSG, I know for a fact he’d get my SGT rank, like how he had my SPC rank and said it would get him smarter. I know one day he’d out do me and exceed everyone’s expectation of him. Rod, you are by far the best little brother to me, you drove me to actually want to try and better my career. And now knowing you’ll be looking out for Echo, I’ll carry you with me. Till Valhalla.

You were the brother I never had. Every time I saw you in that uniform, I felt proud knowing that someone like you, at such a young age, fulfilled a dream that I never could. We think of you today. We think of you in silence and we don't show it because of what it meant to lose you only those who love you know. Remembering you is easy, we do it every day It's the pain of losing you that will never go away. Rest in peace brother.

He would do any and everything to make you smile and feel welcome, one of the most genuine souls I’ve ever met. No matter what day it was or how much work he had to do he would never take a break or even complain when most would. Rodriguez, you were one of a kind with so much potential in this crazy world. No drill will ever be the same. May you rest in peace always and forever🩷

The brightest soul with the kindest heart, taken from us too soon. You will always be remembered, not only for the laughter you brought but for the warmth and love you shared with everyone around you. Thank you for the talks, the unforgettable moments, and for being unapologetically you. We lost a real one, but your spirit will live on in every smile and memory you left us. You will forever be in our hearts. Echo loves you deeply, and we always will.

I remember when he was first paired with me in the motor stables. The first time I actually got to work with him, I wasn't scared to ask questions and didn't care about getting dirty. I never saw him mad, never heard him complain about work, and he never had trouble learning. He always had a smile on his face, reminding me of myself. Even on a bad day, he always kept that smile. Always making people laugh, he would say anything that came to his mind. We love you, G-Rod ❤️ Make it work!!

G - Rod was one of the first soldiers I met when I first came to the unit. He approached me like he knew me for years already and all I could think was that this kid is going to be a handful. He always took pride in being a hard worker and never failed to make me laugh at least once throughout the day. Rest in Paradise G-Rod.

Always been the one to keep moral high even when others weren’t. One of the hardest working and energetic person I’ve known and worked with. I still remember our group in the office enlisting and when we got together and some of us got messed up at your house. Never a dull moment. You will be missed dearly Gilly. Rest Well brother.

One of the hardest working and kindest people I’ve had the pleasure to meet and serve with. Your humility and intelligence was infectious and inspiring to everyone around. I love you brotha, rest well.
When I went to my first ever military Drill he was the first person to approach me and genuinely want to talk to me, and since we shared the same MOS we got along very quickly. He was such a genuine and humble person. I met him for a short amount of time compared to a lot of other people from the unit but yet I have so many good memories with him. he never failed to make everyone around him smile and laugh. He will be missed.

Keep doing it for the infantry and continue to shine your light over all of us. You brought light to some of the darkest times at drill for us all. 🙏🏼
I became friends with gilbert in highschool, him and our other friends would always be doing random fun stuff when we got together, one day a group of us decided to join the army together. Best decision we could have made and some of the best memories were from those times we spent joining, while joking around and having fun also accomplishing a major life goal while opening up other opportunities. Gilbert was a great guy, always polite to people and well mannered, If you didn’t know him he’d make you laugh in one of the first conversations of meeting him. Rip Gilbert🙏
My brother. I remember the early days of our friendship where we go to sgt tuy office and study so we could join the army together. I remember us seeing each other in the hall way and messing around. I feel so sadden that I couldn’t say my goodbyes to you. I would reminisce about our early drive to drills when we would have KPOP blasting even when nobody else in the car would like it. I remember the days with your long hair and the day you got it cut. We enlisted together and started our journey in the army together. I remember the Little welcome home party at your house where we got wasted and you had to take care of us. I’m glad I’ve met you in this lifetime my brother. I’m heart broken to see you go so soon when your life was about to start. I will forever remember you Gilbert❤️
Dam bro. Yu really hurt me wit this one. I’m gonna miss you just making me laugh everytime I would see you at drill. You was the first person to introduce themselves to me when I first got to echo company, you welcomed me wit open arms and made sure that I was gonna be fine cause I was nervous about being there with it being my first time at the unit. You was such a joyful soul and you didn’t even know it but I was going thru a lot when I first got to the unit and you just being the grod we all know and love helped me get through my dark time in that moment, I will forever be grateful I got to cherish the moments we had. As much as it saddens me to have to say goodbye I know you doing good up there watching over us. Till we meet again brother
I grieve with you during the loss of your loved one. My heart and prayers are with you and your family, especially at this time of great loss.
Gonna miss ya Rodriguez. You know I love playing music at work. Can’t count how many times you’d come over and start dancing to whatever song I was playing and explaining that you love this song for the reasons that you do. Especially K Pop. Now when I hear them, I think of you dude. Rest easy. I’ll see you again
Rod you always had my back man. I’m missing you very much brotha. You will forever be missed, and I will never forget you as long as I live.
What a pleasure it was to know you. Such a breathe of fresh air. On our hard working and stressful drill weekends you always had a smile. Laughter echoed wherever you were. Thank you for being such a wonderful person to us all. Every day we got to spend with you, laugh with you, smile with you, and know you has been a pleasure. I wish we got more days with you, but we will forever cherish the ones we did have. We will never forget you. Rest in Paradise 💕🕊️
Bro it’s still hard to believe you won’t be around drill and work won’t be the same for a while. Your a very hard working person and full of potential gonna miss you bro👊may God bless your family and you where evere your at.
G-Rod man this is a hard one. Always smiling and making everyone one laugh with random raps and dances. You will truly be missed brother. Love always.
G-Rod, I never got to tell you thank you for making me laugh and getting me out my headspace at Annual training. I was definitely at my lowest mentally, it was almost like you sensed it. Rod knew I hated not being able to understanding him. I would even say please I don’t speak Spanish Rod please speak English, but he kept speaking Español to me even more. He eventually got me to bust out laughing with his little dance. His dance truly made my day I started feeling like myself for the rest of the day. Thank you, I will truly miss your beautiful aura and genuine energetic personality. Rest in peace you gem 💔🕊️. You’re gone but never forgotten. My prayer goes to your family and love ones.
Seeing you always made me smile, even during long days. Your comedic timing was perfect and I genuinely looked forward to seeing you every drill. I won’t ever forget your poetic talents, the music you shared, your happy enthusiasm while teaching me Stryker maintenance, or the energy you brought to the organization. You will always be family and you will always be missed. Rest in peace 💕
