Garry A. Moldofsky
Garry Alan Moldofsky was born and lived in the city of brotherly love, Philadelphia.
Garry, age 82, passed away on April 18, 2024. Garry was the father of Michael (Anna) and Aaron. Sadly missed by two granddaughters, Calista and Izzy, and a recently born great-grandson, Rodney.
He cheated death half a dozen times, so he was at peace this time surrounded by family and friends. He had so many visitors, that hospital security stopped letting people up to his room at one point. (Yet they didn’t catch his son, Michael, sneaking the chocolate ice cream they said he couldn’t have).
His humor and storytelling were well known in his role as the “mayor” of Bethel Church at Franklin Mills.
He once spent a summer as an Alaskan fisherman! In the 1960s he was a real life “Mad Men” in Los Angeles where in the 1970’s he was an award-winning best friend (also true). He now adds author to that list. His children’s book will be released in May. The website is www.RodgerTheRaisin.com.
Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing and funeral on Friday, April 26, in Bethel Church, Philadelphia Mills, (903 Franklin Mills Circle, Philadelphia, Pa 19154) There will be a viewing in the church from 8:30am – 10:00am, Funeral and prayer service will start at 10:00am with a private burial to follow. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Bethel Church Philadelphia Mills.
