Carolyn Hayes
Carolyn Hayes, formerly of North Philadelphia, passed away on September 29th, 2025, at age 72. Beloved mother of Tisha McBurrows (Paul) and Christina Chenault, whom she raised as a daughter. Devoted grandmother of Ahmaj Chenault. Preceded in death by many brothers and sisters. Sadly missed by many loving nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to her viewing and funeral on Thursday, October 9th in Deliverance Evangelistic Church, 2001 Lehigh Ave. Phila., PA 19132. There will be a viewing from 10 am – 11am, followed by a service from 11 am – 12 noon. Burial to follow in Magnolia Cemetery.

I didn't know Carolyn long, but long enough to know she was a true friend always had a smile 😊 on her face and a kind word to say I will surely miss her, and my condolences to her family I will keep them in my prayers 🙏 love you ❤️

Carol you will always be missed. As I sit near my window and watch you come and go everyday with Tasha , I know as the days and time go by I will still be looking for you until the day reality jump in that your know longer around, but that’s okay, I know you are in a better place singing shouting and praising his holy name. Even on a Sunday morning I will miss you sitting side by side or sitting right behind you when there is no room, but Tasha you have my deepest sympathy in the lost of your mom she will be missed in the hearts of many, you can always call me now and afterwards anytime of day during the months and years ahead. Ms. Carol was a beautiful soul. I remember as a little girl growing up at Deliverance Evangelical Church on Broad and Wyoming Ms. Carol use to sing on the choir and she was also an Usher. She was very quiet but always spoke. It’s been many years since I’ve seen her and I’m sad to hear the news of her passing. She will never be forgotten.

I’m going to miss my Aunt Carol so much. She was truly one of a kind a real diva in the best sense of the word. No matter the occasion, she showed up dressed to impress with style, confidence, and that signature look that only she could pull off. She had a presence you just couldn’t ignore. But beyond the fabulous outfits and fierce attitude, she had the biggest heart. She loved her family deeply and you always knew where you stood with her because she told it like it was. Once she made up her mind, that was it and honestly, we admired her for that strength and certainty. Aunt Carol you’ll always be remembered with love, laughter, and a whole lot of sparkle.
Words can’t explain how much I’m gonna miss my mom she may not have birthed me but she raised me as her own something that I will always cherish. My mom had the biggest heart and the most loving person, especially with children she was a god fearing woman who always served her god and prayed for everyone she loved. I will always love you from the bottom of my heart

My deepest and sincere condolences to Tisha and her family and all those who experienced the beautiful presence of Ms. Carol. The moment I received a message about her passing, two memories came to my mind: 1) She used to make us (me, Tisha, Tracey) laugh, and (2) She took us to church. Although, 35+ years have passed, I remember this as if it was yesterday. I can proudly say that Ms. Carol played a significant role in my Christian walk and My relationship I have with God through Jesus Christ today. Thank you Ms. Carol! May your legacy continue to flourish in the lives of those you impacted. My heart and prayers are with you all!
