Carmen Arroyo, age 85, a resident of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2025.
 
Born in Orocovis, Puerto Rico, on October 16, 1939, Carmen was a devoted mother, beloved matriarch, and the pillar of her family. She was the proud mother of eleven children: Carmen (Julio), Juan (Maria), Angel (Janet), Maria, Jose (Lucy), Ovidio (Jessica), Joel (Waleska), Israel, Roberto, Carlos (Jennifer), and Lissette (Juan Carlos Sr.).
 
Carmen was a woman of deep faith and a dedicated Christian. Her unwavering belief in God shaped the way she lived her life — with grace, humility, and love. She shared that faith with her family, creating a strong spiritual foundation that continues to guide future generations.
 
In addition to her love and dedication to her family, Carmen was wise and financially savvy. With a practical mind and disciplined spirit, she managed her home with intention and foresight. She passed that financial wisdom on to her children, who continue to honor her legacy through their own stability, hard work, and responsibility.
 
Her love extended deeply to her grandchildren, who brought her great pride: Johanna, Jessica, Juan Arnaldo, Yajaira, Miguel, Jeanette, Joel Jr., Kerlynne, Brittney, Ashley, Andre Jr., Roberto Jr., Glorymar, Nicole, Jessenia, Angel, Juan Carlos, and Jose.
 
Carmen was also blessed with a growing generation of great-grandchildren: Alina, Aaliyah, Braian, Shantal, Jasiel, Diego, Nayeli, Juan Arnaldo, Eliel, Vincent, Jahniece, Jahlissa, Nicole, Mia, Chloe, and Alana Carmen.
 
Her legacy continues through her great-great-grandchildren: Bryangelis, Xavier, Aliann, and Dilany.
 
Carmen was known for her resilience, kindness, and unconditional love for her family. Her home was always a place of comfort, prayer, and peace. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, wisdom, and strength that will live on in all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
 
She will be laid to rest in Philadelphia, the city she called home.

Family and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Thursday evening, July 24th from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at McCafferty Funeral & Cremation Inc. 6711 Frankford Ave. There will be another viewing on Friday morning from 10:00 am – 11:00 am with a prayer service starting at 11:00 am Burial to follow in Magnolia Cemetery.

Nacida en Orocovis, Puerto Rico, el 16 de octubre de 1939, Carmen fue una madre devota, una matriarca querida y el pilar de su familia. Fue la orgullosa madre de once hijos: Carmen (Julio), Juan (María), Ángel (Janet), María, José (Lucy), Ovidio (Jessica), Joel (Waleska), Israel, Roberto, Carlos (Jennifer) y Lissette (Juan Carlos Sr.).
 
Carmen fue una mujer de profunda fe y una cristiana dedicada. Su firme creencia en Dios marcó la forma en que vivió su vida — con gracia, humildad y amor. Compartió esa fe con su familia, creando una base espiritual sólida que continúa guiando a las generaciones futuras.
 
Además de su amor y dedicación a la familia, Carmen fue una mujer sabia y financieramente prudente. Con una mente práctica y un espíritu disciplinado, supo administrar su hogar con intención y previsión. Esa sabiduría financiera la transmitió a sus hijos, quienes continúan honrando su legado a través de su propia estabilidad, esfuerzo y responsabilidad.
 
Su amor se extendió profundamente a sus nietos, quienes fueron motivo de gran orgullo: Johanna, Jessica, Juan Arnaldo, Yajaira, Miguel, Jeanette, Joel Jr., Kerlynne, Brittney, Ashley, Andre Jr., Roberto Jr., Glorymar, Nicole, Jessenia, Ángel, Juan Carlos y José.
 
Carmen también fue bendecida con una creciente generación de bisnietos: Alina, Aaliyah, Braian, Shantal, Jasiel, Diego, Nayeli, Juan Arnaldo, Eliel, Vincent, Jahniece, Jahlissa, Nicole, Mia, Chloe y Alana Carmen.
 
Su legado continúa a través de sus tataranietos: Bryangelis, Xavier, Aliann y Dilany.
 
Carmen fue conocida por su resiliencia, bondad y amor incondicional hacia su familia. Su hogar siempre fue un lugar de consuelo, oración y paz. Deja un legado de fe, amor, sabiduría y fortaleza que vivirá en todos los que tuvieron el privilegio de conocerla y amarla.
 
Será sepultada en Filadelfia, la ciudad que llamó hogar.
