Barbara Ann Minthorn

Barbara Ann Minthorn (nee Clancy), known as “Bobbi” to close friends and family has sadly passed away from this life to the next on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Penn Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.

She was born March 28, 1944 in Philadelphia, PA. Barbara was the second of 5 sisters born to the late Charles and Ella Mae Clancy. She graduated from Saint Hubert’s in 1962 a proud “BAMBI”! 

For a short time Barbara worked as a switchboard operator and as a secretary for an insurance company before marrying Russell David Minthorn(Dave) in 1965 and then began her life as a devoted and loving wife and mother to 5 children of her own. In her earlier years Barbara enjoyed reading, cooking, walking and volunteering her time at her children’s Schools as well as in her Community and Churches.

In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her Husband- Russell D. Minthorn,

Son- Russell C. Minthorn and her Sister- Georgianna Geiser (Paul)

She is survived by her Children 

Margaret Gillespie (Brian), Robert Minthorn, Ronald Minthorn, Elizabeth Minthorn and daughter-in-law, Christine Rivera. 

She also leaves behind 15 Grandchildren 

as well as 11 Great Grand Children 

Her Sisters- Marie Stinger(William), Charlotte Lavin and Catherine Clancy along with multiple Nephews, Great Nephews, Nieces, Great Nieces and Cousins. Barbara was a Mother/Grandmother/GiGi who is Loved Dearly and will be Missed Deeply. Family and friends are invited to attend her viewing and funeral on Tuesday, July 7th, at McCafferty Funeral & Cremation Inc. 6711 Frankford Ave. (between Unruh & Knorr Sts). You may visit and comfort Bobbi’s family from 9:30 am – 11: 00 am. There will be a prayer service starting at 11:00 am. Further arrangements will be held at the convenience of the family.
