Joseph Forcina

Joseph Forcina, of Philadelphia, PA, passed away on April 30, 2026, at the age of 64.

He was the beloved son of the late Gino Sr. and Mildred Forcina.

Joseph was a devoted father to Cheetah Montenegro-Forcina and the beloved soulmate of Bonny Kim Montenegro. He is survived by his siblings: Gino Forcina Jr. (Frances), Anthony P. Forcina, Phyllis Forcina, and Annette Willis (the late Kevin), as well as his cherished nieces and nephews: Desiree (Gary), Gino III, and Lyndsay

Joseph was truly one of a kind. He was a passionate musician—a guitarist, bassist, singer, and songwriter—and a dedicated music teacher and guitar technician. He was also skilled as a powerlifter, painter, car mechanic, and carpenter. There was very little he couldn’t do.

To me, he was so much more than all of that. He was my father, my teacher, and my best friend. In times of hardship, he was always there—not only for me, but for his family, his friends, and anyone in need. He was a constant source of strength and support, someone you could always count on.

He had a beautiful smile and a personality that was truly unforgettable. I will always be grateful for the time I had with him and for everything he taught me.

He will be deeply missed and forever loved. Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation and memorial on Friday, May 15th in St. Cecilia Catholic Church 535 Rhawn St. Phila., Pa 19111. There will be a gathering from 9:30 am – 10:30 am in the church. Funeral mass to follow at 10:30 am.

So very sorry for your loss. Sending prayers for your healing.

Tweeting,I have the best of memories of you from Edmunds grade school. Its crazy how we were so tight and hung out togeather. Its crazy was crazy back then for a girl and guy to just be best friends, but we were. You would say ,you and your coffee bean brown hair, and he was short in stature ,but such a tall man. They used to call us Sonny and Cher, because my hair was so long, and he was shorter than me.We were thick as molasses back then.I will never forget that day, when I found out that you were great friends with my cousin Robert Katona, and that you were in California to visit him. What a small world,I loved you like a brother, and will cherish all the time and hours we spent talking on the phone.I just reconnect with you last year,to help you with that move, and get help.I am just so sad and feel gutted!!!!I will miss you so much my dear friend, but Amy and linda Devine,my brother Michael and all the people from the neighborhood will be there to welcome you home!!!!I hope your rocking out in heaven my dear friend, till we meet again, all my love xoxo 💋

My Uncle Joey When I was a small child, every time I’d get to see uncle Joey I was excited all day. He was cool. He was different. He had long shaggy hair, wore leather and chains hung from his pants. He had big rings and jewelry galore. Although small in stature he was big in heart. He had so many passions from guitar to mechanics to preaching the power of love even if some days he couldn’t find it for himself. In his younger years he was a rockstar. To me he was famous. He had tattoos. Which he always told me not get every time I said I would one day… When he met my aunt Kim she made me feel like she saw me. She was one of the first people who let me know it was ok to be different. She would gift me clothes from her brand “very bad horse.” Fitting. Forever thankful uncle Joey brought her into my life for the short time we had her. Uncle Joey was one of the coolest, eclectic, stylish, and free spirited souls. I know now that I am a collection of pieces of the people who loved me throughout my life. And I hope I’m even a little bit as cool as you. Rock in paradise man. Godspeed. 💕
