Tyesha Loretta Edens

Tyesha Loretta Edens, 31, was born on January 27, 1995, to Titus and Joanna Edens at Temple University Hospital. She spent most of her childhood in Frankford, where she was raised in her family home by her loving parents and awesome brothers.

Tyesha began her education at H.R. Edmunds Elementary School, where she attended from kindergarten through eighth grade. During her time at H.R. Edmunds, she ran track, showcasing her energy and determination. She went on to start high school at Community Academy of Philadelphia before transferring to George Washington High School, where she graduated.

Growing up, Tyesha was a spirited tomboy who loved being outdoors and spending time with friends. During high school, she discovered a love for drawing and painting, revealing her creative side. .

After high school, Tyesha pursued her passion for helping others by entering the nursing field. She earned her Licensed Practical Nurse certification from Prism School of Nursing and dedicated the next 10 years of her life to caring for others. As she journeyed into adulthood Tyesha moved out on her own and began building a life rooted in independence, purpose, and compassion.

Tyesha blossomed into a beautiful young woman with a passion for fashion. She took pride in doing her own hair and makeup and expressed herself with confidence and style. Tyesha had a deep love for music, which carried her through life’s many moments. She was outspoken, outgoing, and full of life, with an infectious laugh that could brighten any room. Anyone who knows Tyesha knows she could make you laugh at least once. She had a generous spirit and a giving heart—always willing to help others and never hesitating to feed anyone in need.

Tyesha began her nursing career at Meadowview Nursing Facility. She later became an agency nurse, working throughout the city and surrounding counties. She was highly skilled, specializing in tracheostomy and ventilator care as well as wound care—but she truly did it all. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Tyesha stood on the front lines, tirelessly caring for her patients with dedication and courage. Outside of nursing, Tyesha explored new passions, including day trading and real estate. She had big dreams, with her ultimate goal being to open a group home for wayward girls, where she could continue making a difference in the lives of others.

Tyesha Loretta Edens transitioned on March 18, 2026, at 5:35 p.m. at Jefferson Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family and friends. She fought a lifelong battle with chronic asthma with strength and resilience.

She leaves to cherish her memory her parents, Titus and Joanna Edens; her brothers, Irvin (spouse Beanca) and Titus Jr. (spouse Dominique); her sister, Amani; her beloved godson, Zakee; her goddaughter, Cali; her best friend, Qutrea; along with a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, extended family, and friends.

We come before You with heavy hearts, grieving the loss of our loved one. Wrap this family in Your loving arms and give them peace that passes all understanding. In moments of sorrow, remind them of Your promises and the hope we have in You. Wipe away their tears and replace their pain with Your comfort. In Your name we pray, Amen.
