Thomas Zachwieja

With heavy hearts, we share that Thomas Zachwieja, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, entered eternal rest on March 23, 2026 at the age of 41.

Born on March 13, 1985, Thomas was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend. He was a graduate of Father Judge High School, Class of 2003, and went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Gwynedd Mercy College. He proudly served for 16 years with the Pennsylvania State Police before retiring.

Thomas was a man who found joy in the simple things—fishing, cheering on the Eagles and Phillies, and most importantly, spending time with his family. Above all else, he was a devoted husband and father, and his love for his family was the center of his life.

He is survived by his loving wife, Angela Zachwieja; his children, Isabella, Mason, Josephina, Rosemary, Gabriella, and Paxton; his father, Leo Zachwieja, and his late mother, Marianne Zachwieja; his brother, Timothy Zachwieja, and his sister, Stephanie Zachwieja; along with extended family and many friends.

Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation and funeral on Tuesday, April 7th in St. Matthew Catholic Church 3000 Cottman Ave. Phila., Pa 19149. You may visit and comfort Thomas’ family from 9:00 am – 10:45 am in the church. There will be a funeral mass starting at 11:00 am. Burial to follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
