Shirley Kaisinger
Born on February 15th, 1962, Shirley Ann McKinney (Kaisinger, Leon) returned home to her beloved son, William LaPlant, on March 26, 2026. She was also warmly and lovingly greeted by her late husband, Johnny McKinney, siblings Linda Madden-Flynn, Edward “Sonny” Leon, and father, Frances Leon.
Shirley is survived by her sons: Timothy McKinney Jr., Brian Kaisinger, Patrick Kaisinger, Daniel Kaisinger and daughters: Angela Dangler, Patricia Powers, Brandi Torrissi. Her grandchildren: Patrick Kaisinger Jr., Timothy McKinney III, Abrianna Kaisinger, and Sophia Kaisinger. She is also survived by her mother, Margaret (Gail) Martin and sisters, Kathleen Werner, Sharon Mikus (Robert), and Dolores Martin. ShirleyBird is missed by many, including her (great) nieces, (great) nephews, family, and friends whom she loved deeply while on Earth and will continue to guide as their Angel in Heaven.
Shirley (“Bird”) had a beautiful smile and gentle eyes. She was full of wit, passion, and humor – yet, remained a woman of strength, fortitude, and tenacity despite encountering many challenges throughout her lifetime. She proudly and tearfully rang the bell at Fox Chase Cancer Center after an arduous battle with cancer several years ago and was one to let nothing bring her down. Her energy was silly and contagious – always making others laugh by dancing, singing, or joking. She offered a space where all in her company felt free, welcomed, and loved. She was a protective force – not only for her immediate family – but anyone in her life, especially the underdog. The simple things in life meant the most to “Bird”, and she was always joyful to spend time at the beach or with her family. She cherished each of her children and grandchildren individually and loved sharing about what made them special to her.
With her nails painted lilac purple, on a sunny Spring morning, she reunited with her son, Billy whom she had missed tremendously since his passing. Her family invites all whom would like to join them in celebrating her life at McCafferty Funeral & Cremation Inc., 6711 Frankford Avenue (between Unruh & Knorr Sts.) Philadelphia, PA 19135) on the morning of Monday, April 6th at 9:30AM up until her prayer service at 11:00AM. There will be no interment. During the memorial service, those in attendance will be invited to share sentiments in Shirley’s honor.

My beautiful silly, fun, loving, feisty, sister.I'm happy for you that you are no longer suffering, and you are united with,Billy and the other's. Though,my heart is 😥. Knowing that I'll never see you or talk with you on this side of heaven. I can just see you now with your big beautiful smile and twinkling eyes, full of love and joy.Free at last.♥️ The memories I have with you are us,singing, dancing, and laughing at our silly selves.lol Another memory that comes to mind.I was about 14 years old and you were about 10 years old. I was taking a bath and you threw in a live roach.I almost died. You almost peed yourself laughing.( maybe you did pee yourself) lol Don't remember that part. Another memory is when I came up to Philly and stayed with you for a week. The boys were so young and adorable. You were married to Pat at the time. You made me feel right at home and so did Pat. During that stay, you and I got a little tipsy. And your neighbor got mouthy with you and I picked up a chair to hit her.lol It didn't get that far though. Lol Last but not least,we talked about God a lot.I always reassured you that you were deeply loved and care for by God...Now you are in His loving tender arms for all eternity rejoicing with all your loved ones.😊 I love you my sweet,Shirley. No doubt you are resting in eternal peace...♥️♥️
