In loving memory of Rosemary Theresa Gillen, who peacefully passed away on July 31, 2023, surrounded by her cherished family. Rosemary, born Rosemary Theresa Patterson on December 14, 1946, in Philadelphia, PA, was the beloved daughter of Francis and Cecelia. Growing up alongside her sister, Cecelia in Philadelphia, she graduated from West Catholic High School in 1964.
On September 27, 1969, Rosemary joined her life with Bill in a heartfelt marriage ceremony held in Philadelphia. Together, they nurtured a beautiful family in northeast Philly. For over 30 years, Rosemary worked as a Plant Clearance Officer for the Department of Defense in South Philly before retiring to her dream home, overlooking the serene waters of Mystic Island in Little Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey.
Left to cherish Rosemary’s memory are her loving children: son Bill Gillen and his wife Gina of Lakeville, MA, and daughter Suzanne Baklycki and her husband Mike of Egg Harbor, NJ. Rosemary was a devoted grandmother to Brianna and Bradley Gillen, as well as Alyssa and Michael Baklycki.
Rosemary was predeceased by her loving husband, Bill Gillen, her adored parents, Francis and Cecelia Patterson, and her sister Cecelia Warrington.

Family and friends who knew and loved Rosemary are warmly invited to come together, united in their love and respect, to honor her remarkable life. A celebration of Rosemary’s life will be held at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church (3001 Levick St Philadelphia) on Tuesday, August 8, 2023. There will be a viewing in church from 9:30am – 10:30am. Her funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30am with burial to follow in Forest Hills Cemetery.
