Robert J. Murphy “Bob”, of Northeast Philadelphia, sadly passed away October 6, 2023, at the age of 62. Son of the late Robert J. Murphy Sr. and Joan Murphy. Bob was a retired and dedicated Correctional Lieutenant for several decades at the Philadelphia Department of Prisons. He was a passionate Philadelphia Eagles fan. In his spare time, he enjoyed being outdoors, sipping his coffee by a good bonfire. Beloved husband of 40 years to Kathleen Murphy. Loving father of Matthew Murphy (Samantha), Christopher Murphy (Erin) and Brian Murphy (Retired Navy Petty Officer Second Class). Cherished pop pop of Angelina, Liam, Arlo, Mazie and Melodie. Loving brother of Joanne Murphy, Michele Farrell (Tim), Tracy Murphy and the late Sean Murphy and Scott Murphy. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Bob will be dearly missed by all who loved him, especially his furry companions, Lily and Bear. You may visit and comfort Bob’s family during his viewing from 9:00am-11:00am. There will be a prayer service in the funeral home at 11:00am. Burial to follow in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery.
