Richard C. Kraemer, a resident of the Philadelphia Protestant Home, formerly of Lower Mayfair, passed away on Jan 26, 2024, at age 95. Richard was a retired Philadelphia Fire Fighter that served the city of Philadelphia for 30 years and also was a Korean War veteran, United States Army. Beloved husband of the late, Florence Kraemer (nee Heun). Loving father of Brian Kraemer (Kathleen) and the late Carol Ann Rawle (Mickey). Devoted grandfather of Katie Witts (Chris), BJ Kraemer (Natalie), Amber Jasinski (Chris), Kristen Boyle (Josh), Thomas Kraemer (Shannen) and the late Michael Rawle. Also survived by 14 great grandchildren, Christopher Jasinski, Ryan Witts, Andrew Witts, Christopher Witts, Nicholas Jasinski, Daniel Witts, Avery Kraemer, Wesley Boyle, Trey “BJK III”, Anna Kraemer, Abby Boyle, Emerson Kraemer, Harper Kraemer and Caelyn Kraemer. Predeceased by 2 brothers, George and Edward. Brother-in-law to Barbara Heun. An avid runner and triathlete in his older years, Richard will be remembered for his love of fitness, competition and “it’s never too late to learn/try something new.” Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing and funeral on Thursday, February 1, from 10:00am – 11:00am at McCafferty Funeral & Cremation Inc. 6711 Frankford Ave. (between Unruh & Knorr sts) There will be a prayer service at 11:00am with burial to follow in Magnolia Cemetery.
