Richard Chiardio, of the Castor Gardens section of Philadelphia, formerly from South Philadelphia, sadly passed away surrounded by his loving family, September 26, 2023, at the age of 90. Beloved husband of over 60 years to Leonor Chiardio. Son of the late Charles and Florence Chiardio. Loving father of Richard Chiardio Jr. (Regina), Lisa McGinnis (John) and Robert Chiardio (Ellen). Proud pop-pop of Robert, Allison, Madeline, Anthony, Sean and Stephen and great-grand pop-pop of Julissa and Daisy Lee. Brother of the late Charles (Dorothy). Richard was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He was a big outdoorsman, he loved to hunt. He will be missed dearly. Family and friends are invited to gather, remember and celebrate Richard’s life on Tuesday October 3rd at Resurrection of Our Lord Church (2000 Shelmire Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19152) from 9:30am-10:30am. There will be a funeral mass at 10:30am. Burial with military honors to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Richard’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
