As is a tale, so is a life: not how long it is, but how good it is, is what matters.” -Seneca

“Little” Matt Wasco born in Port Richmond, Philadelphia on November 7, 1999  suddenly passed away on September 3rd, 2023.
Matthew, a Lincoln High School Alumnae, where he was a multi-sport and all city athlete, part of many organizations, especially the Special Olympics in which he cherished being a part of each year. After receiving multiple college offers, Matthew decided on Kutztown to continue his football career. One of his proudest moments was  being a “true” freshman starter. Matthew was an avid sports player, but his love was football. A Junk food connoisseur especially Chick-Fil-A or pizza and you don’t even want to know what his Chipotle order looked like. A lover of anything covered in hot sauce or Flaming Hot Cheetos. A cherished son, brother, cousin, nephew and uncle. A friend when you needed one. A lovable goofball. The sweetest, most genuine heart who left a lasting impression on anyone he met. A smile that lit up any room he was in and his piercing blue eyes that you couldn’t forget. Matthew Anthony Francis Wasco departed this world entirely too soon. He was preceded in death by his mother Toni Wasco and furry sisters Lady and Molly Mae Wasco.  He is survived by his father, “Big” Matt who raised Matthew and Jacob, where it was just dad and his boys. At the age of 6 the “boys” were introduced to the girls, Amanda, Brina, Emily and Christina. Matthew was the happiest kid to have his new family and never thought of them as step, half, just family. Matthew leaves behind his siblings, Dana (Jose), Jacob (Kelsey), Amanda (Rich), Brina, Emily and fur sisters, Bailey, Nellie and Millie. Matthew was such a kind, gentle giant who loved his family. Family was everything to him and with his passing, their world will never be the same. Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing and funeral on Sunday morning, September 10, at McCafferty Funeral & Cremation Inc., 6711 Frankford Ave. (between Unruh & Knorr sts) You may visit and comfort Matthew’s family during the viewing from 9:00am – 10:30am. There will be a prayer service staring at 10:30am. Further arrangements will be held in private by his family. Please omit flowers and kindly consider donations in Matthew’s memory to Street Tails 1030 N 2nd St, Unit 401 Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
