On January 11th, 2024, we lost our mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Marie was 92. She was born and raised in Mayfair and went to St. Hubert’s HS. Marie was very artistic and could draw beautifully. She never missed a birthday card and she fed the birds everyday. She also could sew dresses! She raised 3 children and had a close relationship with each child. There was nobody like her, she had patience, class, a great sense of humor and she dressed beautifully until the day she passed. I think her real passion in life was dancing. Disco and jitterbugging were her favorites! I know she won a Disco contest. She started dancing at the UGH club as a teenager. I think she went dancing every night for decades! She was so happy and had the best time!!! Marie was sharp as a tack until she passed. She didn’t look, dress or act her age. Marie loved her family and worried more about others than herself. I don’t think she ever raised her voice or even became mad. She was the one her adult children would call for advice. Marie also took great care of her parents when they were elderly. She set such a good example of how to treat your family. She also donated to many charities and loved all animals! Our family get togethers will never be the same! We all have wonderful memories!
Marie is survived by her 3 children, Debbie O’Donnell, John Maier and Holly McCullough ( Patrick)
Her 2 grandsons, Brendan McCullough (Melanie) ,
Ryan McCullough ( Carly), Maries 5 great grandchildren, Ava, Tyler, Mia, Quinn and Rian and her cat, Sassy.
She is predeceased by her parents, John and Catherine Piatka and her sister Catherine. At the request of Marie’s family there will be no services.
