Julio Luis Gonzalez, 84, of Philadelphia, entered into God’s eternal rest on Friday, June 23, 2023, at Temple University Hospital. Born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, he resided in the United States since 1963. He was a baker his whole life, even owning his own bakery in NYC. Julio loved to dance, play dominos, spend time with family and friends and play numbers. Son of the late Maria Luisa Martinez and Ignacio Gonzalez. Brother of Francisco Gonzalez and the late Roberto Rodriguez, Jose Manuel Santiago and Aida Gonzalez. Julio is survived by his six daughters, Helen Sanderson (John), Marysol Gonzalez, Monica Estrella (David), Julia Gonzalez-Torres (Michael), Kristina Chavez (Luis), Diana Gonzalez and his late son, Julio Gonzalez. Grandfather to 11 grandchildren, Jasmine Davis, Xavier Williams Jr., Carmen Gee Jr., Jessica Rivera, Kristal Rivera, Erica Rivera, David Estrella, Matthew Estrella, Michelle Torres, Tiffany Torres, Ares Chavez and great-grandfather to 5 great-grandchildren, Colby Austin, Zoe Kornegay, Kash Lewis, Xavier Clark and Janiyah Silva. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Services for Julio will be held privately by his family.
