Julia Rose Bobb

Julia Rose Bobb was born in Norristown, PA on July 21, 1936 and left us on July 12, 2025 after a brief stay in the hospital. Julia was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Frank W. Bobb. She is survived by her loving children, Francis (Deborah), Edith, Julia Lineman (Stephen), and John (Danielle). She is also survived by her adoring grandchildren Kevin Lineman (Grace), Kelly Follet (Nicholas),
Caitlin Bryan (Eric), and Shannon, along with great-grandchildren Samuel and Frances. She is also greatly missed by her beloved best friend, Dolly. A lifelong Philadelphian, Julia was a proud graduate of Hallahan High School. She worked for much of her life after losing her parents while still in high school. She spent many years at the IRS and Mellon Bank, as well as ShopRite to keep busy in her retirement. Julia loved to travel, visiting family in Ireland and Australia many times. She also travelled to Italy, Switzerland, France, England, Scotland, Venezuela, and Singapore. She even danced in Carnivale in Brazil. Proud of her Irish heritage, Julie religiously attended Irish Weekend in Wildwood and the Costello and Friends Bus Trip. She enjoyed listening to Irish music … loudly. She was always willing to dine out and hit the hot spots in town, in spite of typically having only $3 in her purse. Julia was blessed to have an extremely large group of family, friends, friends of family, family of friends, and friends of friends. We take comfort in knowing she lived a full, active, and adventurous life. She will be missed by many. Family and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Thursday evening, July 17th from 5:00pm – 7:00pm at McCafferty Funeral & Cremation Inc. 6711 Frankford Ave. (between Unruh & Knorr sts). There will be an additional viewing on Friday morning in St. Bartholomew RC Church (5600 Harbison Ave.) from 9:30am – 10:30am. Please note that entry to the church parking lot is accessible via the driveway off Cheltenham Ave. with entrance through the rear of the church. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30am with burial to follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Julia’s family encourages you to wear green in honor of her Irish heritage. Please omit flowers and kindly consider donations in Julia’s memory to either St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or the Pennsylvania SPCA

A wonderful family and growing up on Cottage Street, the O'Malley Family could not had better Family and neighbors than the Bobb Family. To the O'Malley Family, the Bobb Family was part of theirs. They treated us like they were their Family. Just like us O'Malley Kids who grew up on Cottage Street, Mom and Dad are in their resting peace

We have come to know Julia as “Granny” through Fran and Debbie Bobb. Grannie was the super star in the Bobbs and extended families and will always remain in our memories as a loving example of someone who cared deeply for friends, never met a stranger, and enjoyed life’s journey.
