James F. Wohlhueter, a 58-year resident of Yardley Borough, died on November 17, 2022, surrounded by his family. He was 85. Jim is survived by his wife of 63 years, Valda, his son, Scott (Susan), his daughter, Kim (Albert) and his sister, Barbara. Jim was born and raised in Colden, New York. He was one of five children of Frederick and Mable Wohlhueter. Jim graduated from Springville High School in 1954 and SUNY at Fredonia in 1959 where he received a BS in Education. Jim received his MBA from the University of Buffalo in 1962 and completed doctoral studies in 1965 at the University of Pennsylvania. Jim enjoyed a 35-year career at Educational Testing Service and retired in 1999 as the Acting Vice President of Human Resources. He was an active member of AAMH in Princeton, NJ. Jim had a wide range of interests. He was an avid gardener and an excellent cook. Music played an important role in his life and was a long-time member of the Pennsbury Community Chorus. He was an active member of the Adult Choir at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection where he served as the Superintendent of the Sunday School, Vice President of the Congregation and a member of several Call Committees. Jim and his wife Valda traveled extensively and fulfilled a lifelong dream of Jim’s to go on safari. Jim will be dearly missed by his extended family, friends, colleagues and “ granddaughters” Maggie and Emma. Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation and memorial on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 1700 Makefield Rd. Yardley, Pa 19067. You may visit and comfort James’ family from 10:00am – 11:00am. Funeral service to follow at 11:00am. Burial will take place at a later date in private by his family.
