Gerald Birney “Gerry”

Gerald Birney “Gerry”, of North Wildwood N.J., formerly of Northeast Philadelphia, sadly passed away July 26, 2022, at the age of 58. Son of the late Robert and Emma Birney. Loving father of Zachary Birney, Emma Birney and Erin Birney. Former spouse of Stacey Vandiver. Beloved brother of Bob Birney (Pat), Mike Birney (Carol), Mary Wardle (the late Rich), Bev Mendelzon (the late Dave), Steve Birney (Janice) and Kevin Birney (Debbie). Gerry was in the Carpenter’s Union for over 35 years and he was a member of the Greater Wildwood Elk’s Lodge #1896. His favorite hobbies included, fishing, playing hockey, being with his family and friends and going to the beach in North Wildwood. Gerry played hockey for most of his life and enjoyed playing Midnight Specials Hockey with his friends in his spare time. He will be truly missed by all who knew him and loved him. Family and friends are invited to gather, remember and celebrate Gerry’s life on Wednesday August 3rd at St. Dominic Catholic Church (8504 Frankford Ave. Phila., PA 19136). You may visit and comfort Gerry’s family during his visitation from 9:00AM-10:30AM. There will be a funeral mass at 10:30AM.
