Elaine P. Hannas, of Dacula Georgia, passed away at home on August 11, 2023 surrounded by her sons, after a prolonged illness. Elaine’s gentle, humble personality was accompanied by incredible inner strength, a quick wit, great sense of humor, and a competitive spirit. Elaine was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she married and raised her four children. When her husband became ill in 1979, Elaine was his sole caregiver for over 20 years, while simultaneously raising her children. Elaine always met life’s challenges with a grace and a quiet strength, never once complaining, and always rising to meet any challenge head on. Elaine was proceeded in death by her husband, Joseph Hannas. After his passing in 2002, Elaine moved to Georgia to live with her youngest son, where she spent time selflessly helping others, including feeding and helping stray animals to find safe shelter. Elaine is survived by her sons, Joe, John, Paul, and James. Elaine led a truly selfless life, always putting others first – she will be dearly missed. Elaine will be laid to rest in a private service at Sunset Memorial Park.
