Daniel C. McEwen, passed away on June 9, 2023, at the age of 65, surrounded in love by his family. A devoted husband to Rosemarie (nee Nicoletti), a beloved father, “Pops,” to Evan McEwen (Christy), Nicollette Shaposhnikov (Vladimir), and Eric McEwen (Samantha). Daniel relished being “Grampy” to Cash, Eric Daniel, Cameron, and Freya. Son to the late Clyde and Laura McEwen, brother to Susan and Jan McEwen. Doting son in law to Rosemarie Nicoletti and the late Ronald Nicoletti. Brother in law to Ronald Nicoletti (Stacy), Rene Nicoletti, and the late Robert Nicoletti. “Uncle Danny” to Rachel, Thomas, Jennifer (William), Christopher, Jayde, Christopher, and Bella. Daniel had an extremely impressive career in the Philadelphia Police Department, retiring as a Detective. During this time, he had a remarkable way of touching the lives of those around him. He was brave and unwavering throughout his life. Daniel wore many hats as a brilliant storyteller and had a trove of creative abilities. He generously shared his lifelong passion for music by writing and performing within notable bands: After Midnight, Blue Shirt Friday, and NINA. Danny was the rock of his family, and believed they were his greatest accomplishment of all. We will deeply miss his love, his warmth, and vibrant heart forever. And while there are no words to describe our affection fully, we know this is not goodbye and instead see you soon. Family and friends are warmly welcome to attend Danny’s memorial service on Monday, June 19th, at 1:00pm at the F.O.P. Lodge 5, located in the Northeast at 11630 Caroline Road, 19154 in the Michael G. Lutz Ballroom.
