Charles Garuffe

Charles Garuffe, “Chalie” of the Mayfair section of Philadelphia, passed away, surrounded by his loving family, on January 26th, 2022, at age 82. Beloved husband for 57 years to Mary Ann Garuffe (nee Baccile). Loving father of Michele Garuffe-Fagan (Michael) and Chaz Garuffe. Devoted grandfather of Corinne, Megan, Chase and Jake. Also survived by his sister, Barbara Clark (Drew). Sadly missed by four nephews and many loving extended family members. Chalie was proud to be a member of the first  graduating class of Father Judge HS, class of 1957. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force from 1957-1961. Chalie had deep roots in his beloved St. Timothy Parish, where both he and his children attended the grade school. A successful entrepreneur, Chalie was the owner/operator of Paintarama Body Shop and Thee Bus Stop bar/restaurant. He was the original owner of “The Eagles Bus” which took neighborhood fans to Philadelphia Eagles games for many years, creating memories for hundreds of people that will last a lifetime. Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation and funeral on Tuesday, February 1st, from 9:00am – 10:30am in St. Timothy RC Church (3001 Levick St.). There will be a funeral mass at 10:30am. Burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers please consider donations in Chalie’s memory to  American Heart Association
