Yuriy Furmansky
Yuriy Furmansky, born on December 28, 1947, in Kiev, Ukraine, passed away peacefully at home in Newtown, PA, on February 14, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Yuriy was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Valentina, his daughter, Helene, and his granddaughter, Lilly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Grigoriy (Soviet military officer, who met WW2 victory in Berlin), and Antonina Furmansky (née Miheeva), (concentration camp survivor), and his younger brother, Vitaliy Furmansky.
A skilled computer technician, Yuriy had a deep appreciation for the intricacies of technology. Beyond his profession, he found joy in the simple beauty of nature, the wisdom found in books, and the discipline of martial arts.
As John Muir beautifully wrote, “Between every two pines is a doorway to a new world.” Yuriy found peace and inspiration in nature, always seeing the beauty in the world around him. His love for the outdoors reflected his adventurous spirit and his appreciation for life’s quiet, profound moments.
Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing and funeral on Thursday, February 20th from 10:30 am – 11:00 am at McCafferty Funeral & Cremation of New Hope, 49 N. Sugan Rd. New Hope, Pa 18938. Burial to follow in Newtown Cemetery.
Though Yuriy is no longer physically with us, his presence will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His wisdom and strength shaped the lives of his family and friends, leaving behind a legacy of free spirited adventure. His stories, laughter, and guidance will be missed but never forgotten. As we say goodbye, we take comfort in knowing that he is now at peace, surrounded by the beauty of the nature he cherished so deeply.
