John Robert McAndrew

John McAndrew, age 93, passed away on January 14, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on December 9, 1932, in Archbald, Pennsylvania. A proud veteran, he served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War, where he worked as a radioman aboard the USS Meredith. His service was a source of quiet pride throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Edna, who passed away in February 2025. He is survived by his children: John (Maryann); Bob; Tom (Shelley); Terry (Chris); and Jim (Edith). He was a proud grandfather and great-grandfather to many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense joy.

A man who loved the outdoors, he found happiness on the golf course, fishing, hunting, and tending to his yard. Whether working with his hands or enjoying a quiet day outside, these simple pleasures brought him peace.

Above all else, he was deeply devoted to his wife and family. His love for Edna was unwavering, and his commitment to his children and extended family shaped the life he lived and the legacy he leaves behind. He will be remembered for his loyalty, his steady presence, and the way he always put family first.

He will be deeply missed and forever loved. Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing and funeral on Thursday, January 22, at St. Robert Bellarmine RC Church, 856 Euclid Ave. Warrington, Pa 18976. I knew Jack from our daily Mass at St. Robert’s He was such a kind and caring gentleman. After Edna died he told me how beautifully his children were caring for him. I regret, due to personal reasons, I could not visit Jack or attend his funeral Mass. I pray for his dear soul but I’m sure he is forwarding them to a needy soul in purgatory as his beautiful and faith-filled life brought him immediately to our loving God’s arms. My sympathies to Jack’s family.

Jack has been Our neighbor for over 55 years. He was always so friendly and well humored. We know he always loved his home and property and took great pride in keeping them just so for many years. Still riding his mower last year with a big smile.
