Felix Calderon
Felix Calderon, age 72, passed away on December 27, 2025. He was born on August 26, 1953, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, to Felix Maria Calderon and Candelaria Santos. Felix later immigrated to New York City, where he arrived and became a naturalized citizen of the United States. He built his life and raised his family in Brooklyn, New York, then Philadelphia, where he was deeply rooted in his community.
Felix proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from December 8, 1975, to September 17, 1981, receiving an Honorable Discharge. During his military service, he earned several decorations, including the Rifle Sharpshooting Badge, two Good Conduct Medals, two Meritorious Masts, a Certificate of Appreciation, and recognition for Sea Service Deployment. His service reflected his discipline, integrity, and dedication to his country.
After his military service, Felix worked for over 20 years as a Calibration Technician, a career that demonstrated his strong work ethic and commitment to providing for his family. He was known as a dedicated worker, a devoted father, and a loving grandfather.
Felix is survived by his children, Joseph Calderon, Sherena Calderon, Julussa Calderon, and Felix Calderon Jr., and his beloved grandchildren, Noah Allen and Arianna Wines.
Felix is also survived by his siblings: Ada T. Perera, Margarita Mató, Ada Altagracia Calderón, José Inoa, Gisela A. Feliu, and Minerva Escarfuller.
Felix Calderon will be remembered for his strength, perseverance, love for his family, and honorable service to his country. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing and funeral on Thursday, January 8, from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm at McCafferty Funeral & Cremation Inc. 6711 Frankford Ave. (between Unruh & Knorr sts) There will be a prayer service at 12:30 pm with burail to follow, with military honors, in Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
