Dorothy Marie Petner

Our beloved mother, Dorothy Marie (nee Bitto) Petner, 83, passed away on Saturday February 15, 2025. Dot was preceded in death by her husband, Ed, her beloved cat, Pebbles, and her brother, Robert Bitto. She is survived by two daughters, Tracy Petner and Lisa Hemmingway (Peter), and two sons, Edward S. Petner (Kim) and Gary Petner. She was the proud grandmother of six and great-grandmother of two.

 

Dot started her career as a switchboard operator for the Bell Telephone Company. Eventually, she moved on to working for Ad Agencies as a receptionist, then secured a job in the Real Estate Industry as a Recorder of Deeds for the City of Philadelphia.

 

Mom loved the peacefulness of the ocean and was a fan of Sinatra, Elvis, Broadway Musicals, as well as tennis star Rafael Nadal. She was an affectionate person who loved her daily hugs. Her quick-witted sense of humor will be dearly missed.
