Joann Claire Hardigree, of Glenn Mills PA, formerly of Philadelphia, sadly passed away March 16, 2024, at the age of 76. Daughter of the late Mario Tassi Sr. and Helen Tassi. Loving mother of Michael Hardigree (Risa Suzuki), Mary Hardigree and the late Mark Hardigree. Beloved grandmother of Ashley, Mark Jr., Serena, Matthew, Geraldo and Xzavier. Great-grandmother to many great-grandchildren. Cherished sister of Marylou (Mark), John (Karen), Helen (Mike) and Mario. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Michael P. Inglisa, AKA “Cuz” “Mike Lapsley” of Delran, NJ, formerly of the Tacony section of Philadelphia, passed away on March 12, 2024, at age 66. Proprietor of Lapsley Printing for many years. Frank J. Menarde Jr., went home to be with the Lord and loved ones who went before him, on March 10, 2024. He was born in Philadelphia on March 13, 1931 to the late Frank and Helen Menarde. We were saddened to lose him just three days before his 93rd birthday. He is survived by his four children, Glenn Menarde, Kim Kuklinski (Vince), Diane Livezey and Wayne Menarde (Laura). Frank will be missed by his 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 35 years Alyce, his son John, his brother David and his sister Ellen. Frank owned his own auto body shop for years before he realized his real love was horseracing. He became an owner/trainer of thoroughbred race horses, where he went on to win over 200 races. Some of his happiest times were when family gathered together to enjoy a delicious home cooked meal. He loved company and was a very social man. He had a real passion for music especially The Ink Spots, Clarence “Frogman” Henry and the Mills Brothers. He will be greatly missed as he was one of a kind. Diane Florence Brody, of Philadelphia, passed away on March 8th, 2024, at age 64. Daughter of the late Warren and Louise Brody. Loving mother of Diana Brody. Sadly missed by friends and coworkers. Diane had an Associates Degree in Fashion Merchandising and spent most of her life as a hairstylist. She completed anything she put her mind to and always put others before herself. She loved to cook, garden and spend time with her and her daughter’s cats, William and Harry. In August 2022, she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She took her diagnosis head-on with a positive attitude and a determination to beat it. She fought until her last breath in her home as her final wish. She will be deeply missed by all of those who knew her. James A. Hawthorne, of Trevose, Pa, passed away on March 9, 2024, at age 74. Beloved husband of Margaret Hawthorne. Loving father of James A. Hawthorne, Jr., Joseph J. Hawthorne (Joanna), Natalie Clee (Christopher), Alicia Hawthorne and Dereck Hawthorne (Melissa). Sadly missed by many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ann Patricia Santoro (nee Burke), formerly of Philadelphia. passed away on March 7, 2024, at age 89. Loving mother of Patricia Ann Gray (Charles), Theresa Robinson (Bradley) and Thomas Santoro. Rose Marie Paxson (nee Sanford), a resident of the Tacony section for many years, passed away on February 29, 2024, at age 82. Beloved wife of the late Robert Paxson. Robert Goodrich “Bob”, of Philadelphia, sadly passed away on February 27, 2024, at age 68. Predeceased by his mother, Catherine S. Goodrich. Loving father of  Taryn Aguirre (David) and Kelly Goodrich (Dennis Beardsley). Beloved brother of Michael Goodrich (Jackie), John Goodrich (Lisa), Cate Becker (the late Rick) and Elizabeth Goodrich. Cherished nephew of Uncle Joe Fisher (Beth). Uncle of Patty, John, Lexi and Catie. Izamoi Louis, born in Gonaives, Haiti, sadly passed away, February 28, 2024, at the age of 88. Loving mother of Jacqueline Charles (Jean Robert). Cherished grandmom of Joery Charles, Guyenna Charles, Lenzee Charles and Jean W. Charles. Great-grandmom of London, Royalty, A.J., Masiah and Maliah. She is also survived by her nieces, Josyln Louis, Mary C. Louis, Roseline Louis, as well as several other nieces, nephews and extended family members. Mary Anne Macartney (née Tierney), left us to mourn her loss on February 23, 2024. For 15 years  Mary Anne was Law Office Administrator for Selective Insurance at Romando Zirulnik Sherlock & DeMille in Mt Laurel, New Jersey. Mary Anne’s leadership style was to raise people up, recognize excellence and credit others. With a reputation for fairness and integrity, she managed attorneys and support staff in Philadelphia, New Jersey, and Pittsburgh.  Prior to Selective, Mary Anne learned corporate law in the 1990s working for the partner in charge of business development at Mylotte, David & Fitzpatrick in downtown Philadelphia. In the 1980s Mary Anne tabulated data and then worked in security for the Internal Revenue Service. A devout Catholic, Mary Anne supported multiple charities as a member of the Catholic Daughters and in the 1990s served as State Regent. Dedicated to family and community, Mary Anne was a member of the Home and School Association and served as its president for several years when her children attended St. Tim’s. During her professional life and in retirement, Mary Anne was quick to draft legal documents for friends and family. She kept in touch by phone and was always ready to share dramatic stories and exchange confidences. She was fortified by her dear friends. Mary Anne had a gift for appreciating others and sharing her stories and unique views. She will be dearly missed by those closest. Daughter of the late Dennis J. Tierney and the late Elizabeth Tierney. Devoted wife of the late William F. Macartney, loving mother to Sean and Dennis Macartney; Suzanne Macartney of Greenbelt, Maryland and Katey (Gary) Brand of Dix Hills, New York. Cherished grandmother of Sean Thomas Macartney and Alexander William Brand.  Sister to the late Patricia Campbell, the late Elizabeth McCauley, Kathleen Macartney, Dennis Tierney, and the late Stephen A. Evelyn worked at York Ship Elementary School in Camden, NJ as an aide for handicapped children for almost 20 years. She enjoyed working with children and was very dedicated to her job. Evelyn loved to read. She enjoyed crocheting. She loved Elvis and his music along with Patsy Cline. Evelyn was pre-deceased by daughter Christine Ulrich and survived by son Richard Wirth and daughter Michelle Reis (Gene). She was also pre-deceased by brother Jack Wirth (Theresa), sister Genevieve Brewer (Eugene). Nora Trampé (nee O’Brien) “Nonie” born June 29, 1943, passed away at home surrounded by her family, on February 20, 2024, at age 80. Predeceased by her parents, James J. O’Brien and Mary O’Brien (nee Touhey). Beloved wife of the late Edward Trampé, Sr. Loving mother of Edward Trampé (Desiree), Thomas Trampé, James Trampé (Nicole) and Nora Ann Tracey (Shawn). Devoted Nonie of Brittany, Justin, Thomas, Nicolle, Zackery, Cali, Dallas, Micky, Taylor Ann, Tatum and Scarlette. Sister of Margaret (O’Brien) McQuillan, Anna Marie (O’Brien) McLaughlin and the late Patrick O’Brien, James O’Brien and Maureen (O’Brien) Evans. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. JoAnn Donahue, of the Frankford section of Philadelphia, sadly passed away February 19, 2024, at the age of 72. Daughter of the late Francis and Martha Altimari. Beloved wife of Howard Donahue. Loving mother of Traci Guy, Frankie Donahue (Melissa) and Anthony Donahue (Nicholle). Cherished grandmother of Dana, Jenna, Lukas, Ashley, Emily, Brooke and Jaren. Loving sister of Frances Hochstuhl (the late Hank). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life for JoAnn will be held on Monday Feb 26th at The Hall at the Harbour (2000 Harbour Dr., Palmyra, NJ 08065) from 11:00am-2:00pm.


Joanne U. Sinclair (nee Kohl), a resident of far Northeast Philadelphia, passed away on February 18, 2024, at age 79. Beloved wife of Robert Sinclair. Loving mom of Bette Lavin (Jim) and Heather Ackerman (Brian, Sr.). Devoted Nan of Brian, Jr. and Abbey. Preceded in death by her sister, Bette Kohl. Carlos Alberto Giraldo Montes, from Northeast  Philadelphia,born and raised in Manizales, Colombia, went to heaven on February 13, 2024, at the age 58. He came to this country in hopes of providing a better life for his family. Carlos was a hard working man, worked day and night. He was well respected and loved by others. Carlos would often say his reason for living was his grandchildren. He would alway refer to them as his “ world, and everything.” His presence will be greatly missed. Beloved husband of Mary Luz Martinez Loiza. Loving father of Mikaela Giraldo Martinez and Luis Felipe. Devoted grandfather of Nyla Penelope, Liam, Mateo, Emely and Thomas.   Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing and funeral on Tuesday, February 20, from 9:30am – 11:00am at McCafferty Funeral & Cremation Inc.  There will be a prayer service at 11:00am. Further arrangements will be held in private by his family. Carlos will be laid to rest in his homeland, Colombia. 


Timothy Castle, lifelong Philadelphia resident, Mayfair Holmesburg sections, passed away on February 14, 2024, at age 51. Predeceased by his parents, Frank and Irene Castle (nee O’Neil), his twin brother, Thomas Castle, brother, Denny Castle, sister, Joann Castle (wife of life long friend, Danny Tobin)  Lovingly missed by his wife and mother of his children, Kelly.  Tim is survived by his children, Thomas Castle (Marisa), Jessica Castle and Nicholas Castle (Isabella), his only grandchild, Thomas Castle, Jr., as well as his brothers, Jimmy Castle, Michael Castle, Joseph Castle (Maria), Anthony Castle (Cindy) and by many nieces, nephews, and friends who he loved whole heartedly. Tim was a good athlete in his younger days, spending many hours on the basketball courts in the neighborhood. He worked in the roofing industry for many years in and around the city he grew up in, Philadelphia. He will be missed. In keeping with the wishes of his family, there will be a private service to honor Tim with immediate family members. Please keep him, and all of those that loved Tim in your daily prayers.
