Teodoro Sanchez

Shared Memories

Teodoro Sanchez, of the Fairhill/Kensington section of Philadelphia, sadly passed away surrounded by his loving family on September 1, 2024, at age 83. Born in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico, Teodoro was the beloved son of the late Cirilo Sanchez and Monica Figueroa. He was the devoted husband of Maria Sanchez and the loving "papa" of Daisy, Danny, Diana, David, and Felix. He was also a cherished "abuelo" to many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a dear "hermano" to several siblings. Teodoro was also survived by his extended family, including nieces, nephews, daughters-in-law, and a son-in-law.

Teodoro was extremely passionate about his antiques, music, and wrestling. He was well-known in his community for the special wall that he created on the side of his home, where he showed his collection of unique antiques, making his home a beautiful display for all who passed by.

Teodoro was affectionately known as "El Amigo del Pueblo." He was a friend to all, always open, inviting, and full of love. His warm and friendly personality made him a beloved person in his neighborhood, where he was more than just a neighbor, he was family. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the entire community.

All are invited to Teodoro's viewing and funeral on Tuesday, September 10th at McCafferty Funeral & Cremation Inc. 6711 Frankford Ave. Phila., PA 19135 (between Unruh & Knorr Sts.) from 9:30 am to 11:00 am. There will be a prayer service in the funeral home at 11:00 am. Further arrangements will be made by his family.

My deepest condolences and respects to my familia from Mascher Street. Mi Coco loco; so many memories and good times shared. I remember playing hide-n-seek in the house with compai Dave, my brother, my best friend growing up. We sure did give your papi a few headaches here and there, but it’s all love. It’s been so long since I’ve last Coco and the familia, but this I know to be true… the bond that you all have are a direct reflection of his example and love for you all. I only wish I would’ve been able to create more memories with my Mascher Street familia as I matured and grew older. Regardless, I did learn a lot from Coco and one of the precious things he left with me was the ability to be thoughtful, caring and determined. I will always appreciate you and pray that your journey into the beyond is filled with peace, joy and lots of love.

I Love you Pop ❤️I miss you so much. I can’t imagine a day without you. I willl forever treasure the wonderful memories you gave me and the great father you were to us. I remember the surprise McDonald lunches you would bring us at St. Boniface ☺️making us the envy of others, but we shared because you taught us well. I know you are no longer suffering and that brings us peace. Watch over us and send me a sign down here so I know you are still by my side. I will find you I am Sure. I adore you with all my heart. My DAD Teodoro Sanchez also known as COCO was truly an amazing man, Father & Grandfather. He was one of the most Hardest working man I’ve ever known. My Dad came straight from Puerto Rico not knowing much here in America and raised 5 children with his Wife my beautiful Mother Maria Sanchez. My dad taught me the true meaning of a working man. Teodoro was full of life and full of energy. That man was very Determined so whatever my dad had his mind set on he’ll get it done. He was loved by everyone. I’m going to miss watching wrestling with him he was so passionate about his wrestling, I’m going to miss all his advices he gave me. The joking around we both did even sharing drinks with him I’m truly going to miss My dad so much. I Love You DAD always and Forever.
