  6. To my oldest brother Rodney Sr. To hear those words come from your mouth yesterday saying “he is gone” what is the hardest thing for me to comprehend at that moment? But after I hung the phone up, it came into my spirit – to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. O how he will be missed. He was always the life of the party when family got together. We could always count on him to take his VA family to the best hoagie and cheesesteak spot there. And BEST dresser, yes he was and the cleanest sneakers. I pray that God will comfort our hearts as we go through this difficult journey. We must continue to love pray and support each other. The family that prays together stays together. You will forever live in our hearts and minds. So sleep on nephew and take your rest we all LOVED you but God LOVED you best. Missing you already, Aunt Sandra 🙏🏼💔😇

  7. I pen this with a Heavy Heart because there are few people that I have known my entire life. Rodney and I will always be brothers. I happen to be 1 day older than him!! and we were family not by DNA. However, our greater sense of family was through community, on Camden Ave. Even though he lived in PA, our summers in Portsmouth, Va. were the best!! I pray for the family extended, and remind you that at times like this we can hold to our FAITH!!

  9. Sending prayers to the family and gratitude to Rodney for the many fond memories of childhood summers in Virginia. We actually shared a birthday (Feb. 24t, I often called him my birthday buddy) and countless fun times on Camden Ave. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your journey. May you rest well my friend.

  10. Rodney, You will always hold such an important piece of my heart.. Thank you so much for all the memories that we share and great times we had together. We laughed often and I will never forget those times. I have so much I could say, but you know my thoughts and where my heart is. I know you wanted us to get back up there to see you and I’ll be forever sorry we ran out of time for that. I want to find comfort in believing you’re at peace now and able to look down and watch over Mariah. I am thankful that even though we moved so far away, we stayed in touch throughout all these years and spoke often. I am forever grateful that whenever I look at Mariah, I can see you, thank you for that.
    Love, Amy
