Michael A. McAteer

Michael A. McAteer, 69, predeceased by his parents,  Harry J. and Catherine M. McAteer (nee Campbell); his brothers Timothy I. McAteer and  Patrick J McAteer. Survived by his brother, Bernard P. “Barney” (Johanna); his brother, Thomas E. (Margaret); his sister Sarah “Sally” E. Hagy (Robert E.); and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Michael was a devoted parishioner  of St. Ephrem Roman Catholic Church on Hulmeville Road in Bensalem. Michael graduated from Cardinal Dougherty High School in 1971. After graduation Michael was the manager for 12 years at Downey’s Irish Bar on South Street where the family celebrated St. Patrick’s Day in a grand fashion. He spent 20 years as a car salesman at Team Toyota where he made many lasting friendships and just recently retired. Michael’s greatest joy was spending quality time with his family celebrating Christmas, Thanksgiving and Easter. Wildwood was his happy place and where he spent every summer with his family on the beach. His hope was to retire there but God had different plans for him and now he will rest in the arms of the angels with his mother and father, where he will continue to celebrate the holidays with them in heaven  along with all of our aunts, uncles and cousins who have passed.
