It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Nicholas Leonard Basta, III, on October 31, 2024 at age 53. Nick is survived by his son Nicholas G. Basta, who was the light of his life. He is also survived by his mother Cheryl Scott, father Nicholas L. Basta, II, stepmother Rose Basta, brothers Jeffrey, Michael, Matthew, and sister Holly as well as several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his Philadelphia family, the Stancati’s – Serena,  Carmela, Anthony, Dana, Michael, and Sophia – and Brian and Francesca Romaniello.

Nick was born in Wilkes Barre, where he spent the earlier part of his life until he moved to Southeastern Pennsylvania to manage the McDonald’s in Morrisville, PA, which he did for several years. Eventually, Nick was called back to his passion, carpentry. He had a heart and hands of gold. He turned carpentry into artwork – building things, fixing anything, and making old things new again. Whenever someone needed something built or fixed, someone to talk to, or a laugh, Nick was there. He would do anything for anyone and always with a smile on his face. Everyone, whether they knew him well or not, loved him for the selfless, genuine, loving, and funny soul he was. Nick was a blessing to everyone whose lives he touched and will be greatly missed…until we meet again.
