I knew Jack for as long as I can remember and have nothing but fond memories. He was a unique individual with both a great sense of duty and a great sense of humor. I can not imagine having a better friend than Jack. Things just will not be the same without him.

A good man who raised wonderful children. Our prayers and support go out to his wife, Brenda, and family.

Jack was a joy to spend time with. I got to know Jack best while playing with him in street hockey leagues well into our 40’s. Jack was our goalie, of course. Jack would routinely hold a conversation with me while I played defense in front of him. He was always friendly and uniquely personable. My favorite Jack story makes me smile every time I tell it. Jack would dare me to try to stump him with any trivia question of my choosing. I say “ok Jack, 1970 World Series, game one, hugely controversial play at home plate where the runner is called out as the catcher is tagging him with his glove, however, the ball is in the catcher’s bare hand unbeknownst to the umpire. So Jack….who was the catcher and who was the runner on that controversial play?” ……without hesitation, Jack immediately says, “Elrod Hendricks was the catcher, Bernie Carbo was the runner…….and Ken Burghardt was the umpire” HE KNEW THE FRIGGIN UMPIRE. I’ve told this story 100 times and it makes me laugh every time. Jack was a uniquely friendly and charming guy. I will certainly smile when I think of him.

Being fortunate enough to have met Jack way back in Junior baseball, we remained friends throughout his passing. His honesty, his compassion & his resolute demeanor come to mind whenever I think of Jack. While golfing with Jack on a weekly basis will always be a fond memory, his rendition of the Doors “Roadhouse Blues” at those McShea weddings will be never, ever be forgotten by our friends group. My condolences to the entire McShea family. We have certainly lost a terrific family man & friend. Rest In peace, my friend. We will miss you dearly.

Hello, Carol and I are shocked with the Passing of Jack. He was one of kind. Our prayers and sympathies are with the McShea family. He could light up a room. He made you feel good when he walked into a Bar. Chickies for me And Tony’s for Carol. His knowledge of sports was unparalleled. And he’d let you know it. But the person he was talking to would just have a connection to him. He was a real inspiration to me. He made everyone feel better with his humor and Knowledge. I miss him already even though we live in Florida. One of my favorite customers ever. A true gentleman. The bar always picked up after he came in. But above all he was a great father and grandfather and brother . Only a few people can make you feel upbeat and happy as Jack. I feel so bad for the McShea family. He will obviously be extremely miss. But when I think of him I will always have a smile on my face. RIP Jack ! Joe And Carol Camm Cape Coral Florida

Sincere condolences to the entire family of John “Jack” McShea. He will be remembered as one of the friendliest, nicest, and most caring persons that those of us who know him have ever met. Like his father "Bernie" before him, I am a better person for the experience of his friendship.

Jack... You were one of the very few genuine people that I worked with at the PLCB. Always with a smile, joke and offering help if needed. You will be missed by many.

Jack, You were the man. Honest, friendly, down to earth, and truly a friend to so many. We are in England/Ireland now, so regretfully I will miss your services, but I will not forget your friendship. Rest easy, lad. The hard part is over.

  1. When I think of my cousin John i always smile because of how welcoming and kind hearted he was in any family gathering. He had a knack for remembering names, past events and oh yes past memorable Philadelphia sports events. John will be greatly missed. i wish the family a warm peaceful condolence in the name of Jesus. God bless!

  2. There are many memories I have of my cousin John, I remember most how he tried to teach me how to play golf on the makeshift chip and putt course that was made at Uncle Bernard’s House. Later on in life I was unfortunate to play a round of golf with John. We laughed and talked the entire round. John had facts and names about every subject we discussed. I wish the family of John my condolences. John will be missed at any future McShea Event
