James Patrick McNamara, “Jimmy Mac” 59, of Mayfair, Philadelphia, passed away after a 3 year battle with tonsil cancer. Jimmy Mac was born and raised in Mayfair, where he still resided until his passing. A proud St. Tim’s, Father Judge HS, and Allen Yard alumni. Jim is survived by his two daughters, Taylor Penrose (Joe) and Alexandria; wife, Linda Daley; and his granddaughter, Violet. He is also survived by his mother, Jeanne; his sisters, Debbie and Diane; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Raymond; and brother, Joseph. Other than in the neighborhood, you could always find Jimmy in Wildwood, NJ all summer long. He was a long time employee of the Turf Club in South Philly, Waste Management, and his own company, McNamara Pest Control. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, and a proud member of the 700 club Eagles season ticket holder at The Vet. We will never hear a Rolling Stones song without thinking of him. He will be missed my many family and friends. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, April 1st at Gallo’s Seafood Restaurant (Burger Bar), 8101 Roosevelt Blvd Phila. 19152, starting at 10:00 am. There will be a prayer/eulogy service commencing at 12:00 noon. Luncheon to follow. Please omit flowers and kindly consider donations in Jimmy’s memory to University of Pennsylvania Abramson Cancer Center.
