Christine Lubking

Christine Jane Lubking (Chrissy), a loving mother, grandmother, and dedicated nurse, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2025, at the age of 78.

From a young age, Christine was determined to follow her passions. Though she initially pursued a degree in history at Wilkes College, her desire to care for others grew strong, and she eventually returned to school to earn her nursing degree. Balancing late-night study sessions with raising her young family, Christine excelled academically, earning straight A’s along the way. She went on to have a rewarding career as a registered nurse, working in various hospitals, long-term care facilities and finally, as a visiting nurse across Philadelphia, where she touched many lives with her compassion and expertise for over 20 years.

Outside of her nursing career, Christine was a gifted gardener and decorator. She took immense pride in transforming her homes into warm, welcoming spaces that reflected her love for beauty and comfort.

In later years, when her health presented challenges, Christine was blessed with the gift of a double lung transplant, which granted her nearly 20 more years of joy with her family. During this time, she treasured holidays, made cherished trips to Cape May, and remained an avid reader, fulfilling 20 to 30 book requests per month from her local library.

Christine’s greatest joy, however, was always her family. She is survived by her daughters, Susan Kling and Meredith Lubking (Colleen Clark), and her granddaughters, Isabel and Josephine Kling. She was predeceased by her sister, Barbara Speers, and son-in-law, John Kling.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Free Library of Springfield Township, Montgomery County, PA. To honor Christine’s wishes, her family will hold a private ceremony this summer in Cape May, NJ.

As a Keystone volunteer then Chris's friend, I was privileged and honor to visit Chris on a weekly basis. We shared wonderful conversations of books, her surveys, pictures and mostly, her wonderful daughters and grandchildren. I truly will missed our visits and offer my sincere condolences and love to her family. Love Connie
