Patricia A. Hingley

Patricia A. Hingley (nee Brown), 89, formerly of Phila, PA died August 4, 2019 in Grimesland, N.C. at her home.  As the second of 7 children, she was born July 25, 1930 in Phila, PA to James Earl and Helen Brown.  She was preceded in death by her husband Harold (Hal) Hingley, (November 10, 1930- August 1, 1999), after 48 years of marriage.  She was also preceded in death by two of her 8 children, Margi Schilling (Jack) and Marianne, an infant.

She is survived by her remaining children: Dan (Sue); Chris (Pat); Kathi Bury (James); Hank (Heather); Eileen Hingley (partner Jim); Annemarie Puodziunas (Pete her sometimes ninth child).  She was blessed with 18 grandchildren: Jamie Schilling (Danielle), Debbie Madden (John) , Ginny Wiekel (Jeff), Stephanie Sponheimer (Rob), Ali McShea (Mark), Katie Huff (Justin), Becky Hingley, Sarah Hingley (Ian), CB Hingley, Kevin Bury (Elisha), Chris Bury, Heather Santos (Angel), Jennifer Wheatley (Michael), Andrew Hingley (Lori), Anthony Hingley (Allison), Elena Puodziunas, Peter Puodziunas Jr, Cammi Puodziunas.  She also had 21 great grandchildren: JD Schilling, Jeffrey Weikel, Josie Weikel, Katie Madden, Angelina Sponheimer, Anthony Sponheimer, Jane McShea, Clare McShea, Maggie McShea, Mason Huff, Emma Bury, Heather M. Santos, Miguel Santos, Gabriella Santos, Zoeie Wheatley, Abigail Hingley, Addison Hingley, Suzie Hingley, Sammie Hingley, Sarah Hingley, Anthony Hingley Jr..  She was the second of 7 children and is survived by 4 of her siblings; Sonny Brown (Deceased), Kate Merenda, Barbara Gracyalny (deceased), Helene Brown, Ed Brown, Eileen McCullough.  She had lived in Pennsylvania, California, and Maryland. She resided with her daughter, Annemarie and her family, in Pennsylvania and moved with them to North Carolina in 2018.  She graduated from Little Flower High School in 1947. In addition to being a great mom to her large family, she was a devoted volunteer with many organizations. She was very involved in her children’s schools and scouting, along with the Salisbury Zoo and multiple community service agencies in Salisbury, MD and Philadelphia, PA.

Family and friends are invited to her viewing on Monday Eve August 12th from 6:00-8:00PM at McCafferty Funeral & Cremation Inc. 6711 Frankford Ave. (between Unruh & Knorr Sts). There will be a funeral mass on Tuesday morning Aug 13th, 10:30 AM, in St Katherine of Siena RC Church, (9700 Frankford Ave.)  where a viewing will be held from 9:30-10:30 AM in the church.  Burial to follow after the mass in Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem, PA.  In lieu of flowers, her family asks that donations be made to:  Archbishop Ryan High School  11201 Academy Road  Philadelphia, PA 19154
