Margaret McParland-Abel, affectionately known to her friends and family as Peggy, died on Valentine’s Day, Friday the 14th of February at Lower Bucks Hospital surrounded by family. Born in 1941 in Philadelphia, PA, she lived most of her adult life in Somers Point and Egg Harbor Township NJ, before returning to Pennsylvania in recent years. Peggy loved good food, especially Italian and seafood, her Yorkies, her stuffed animals and dolls, and most of all her family. She is survived by her sister, Geraldine Scassero and her husband Tim; her sons, Joseph Swope and his wife Sharon, Thomas Swope and his wife Nadine, Michael Swope and his wife Susan, William Schweppe and his wife Meka; ten grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to gather, remember and celebrate Peggy’s life on Wednesday, February 19th at McCafferty Funeral & Cremation Inc. 6711 Frankford Ave. (between Unruh & Knorr Sts). You may visit and comfort Peggy’s family during the viewing from 9:30am – 11:00am in the funeral home. There will be a Prayer Service at 11:00am (also in the funeral home), with burial to follow in Magnolia Cemetery.
