Joseph A. Smolczynski

Joseph A. Smolczynski, formerly of the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia, passed away on January 18th, 2020, at age 79. Beloved husband of the late Irene. Loving father of Patricia Barnabei (Fred), Joseph A. Smolczynski (Susan), Daniel Smolczynski (Melanie) and Elizabeth Young (Aaron). Devoted grandfather of 14  and great grandfather of 3. Brother of Judith Martin (Gerald). Joseph was retired Philadelphia Fire Fighter who served as past president of the Retired Fire Fighters Association. Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing and funeral on Thursday January 23rd from 9:00 – 10:30am in St. Katherine of Sienna RC Church 9700 Frankford Ave. There will be a funeral mass at 10:30am with burial to follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Joseph’s memory to Local 22 Widows’ Fund 415 N. 5th St. Philadelphia, PA 19123.
