John McKiernan

John McKiernan, “Jack”, of Roxborough, died on October 7th, 2020, at the age of 88.  Jack grew up in the East Falls area of Philadelphia. He is the son of the late John and Mary (Frith) McKiernan. Preceded in death by his wife Frances, brother William (Speck) McKiernan and sister, Marlene (Molly) Cannon. Jack served in the US Army and retired from the US Mint. As a young man, Jack loved to play football and baseball. He was a huge fan of the Phillies and Eagles. He gained the nickname, “Jack The Track” because he loved horse racing. He loved dancing and listening to the music of the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. Jack was a kind, loving and devoted man to his family and friends. He will be sadly missed by his nephews, Jerry, John, Kenny, Bill Cannon (who was also his Godson), Billy Kelly and nieces Joan (Cannon) Meyland and Marlene (McKiernan) Pisasale. Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation and funeral on Wednesday October 14th from 9:00am – 10:00 am in St. John the Baptist RC Church, 119 Rector St. Phila. 19127. Funeral Mass 10:00am Burial to follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Because of the current health concerns, face masks are required in church.
