Dorothy Helen Ackerman

Dorothy Helen Ackerman (nee Tomosky), of Northeast Philadelphia, formerly of West Philadelphia, passed away September 6th, 2020 at the age of 79.  Daughter of the late John and Marion Tomosky (nee Morgan). Beloved wife of the late Jack Ackerman . Loving mother of Joseph Ackerman (the late Denise) and Marion Ackerman. Sister of the late Mildred Kling (Ron), Marion Wallace (the late James), Elizabeth Adelman (the late Jack), James Tomosky (the late Kathleen), George Tomosky (Elsie), John Tomosky (the late Margaret), Thomas Tomosky, William Tomosky, Phillip Tomosky and Barbara Tomosky. Devoted grandmom of Desiree Butcher (Gary), Jacqueline Spencer (Greg), Lexus Slack and Erin Slack as well as great-grandmom of Joseph Butcher, Henry Butcher and Charles Butcher. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to gather, remember and celebrate Dorothy’s life on Friday, September 11th at McCafferty Funeral & Cremation Inc., 6711 Frankford Ave Phila PA 19135 (between unruh & Knorr Sts.) You may visit and comfort the Ackerman family during the viewing from 9:30AM-11:00AM. There will be a private prayer service at 11:00AM in the Funeral Home. Due to the current health concerns, face masks are required, and there will be a limit of 25 people at a time inside of the funeral home.
