Samantha Motyl

Samantha Motyl, of the Tacony section of Philadelphia, sadly passed away July 15th, 2021, after a long and valiant fight with cancer. She recently celebrated her 20th birthday on July 10th with her loving family. Beloved daughter of Karen Schreiber Evans. Loving sister of Daniel Motyl. Dear grand-daughter of Eunice Schreiber (Lawrence). Cherished niece of Lori Schmidheiser (Bill), Steven Schreiber, Thomas Schreiber and the late Larry Schreiber. She is also survived by her step-father Raymond Evans as well as several cousins, aunts and uncles. Sam graduated from Tacony Academy Charter School in 2019, with honors. She was always thoughtful of others, and was planning to to go to Holy Family University to become a nurse, to help other children with afflictions. Sam loved to play Volleyball, and spend time at the shore visiting her great-uncle Chris and late great-aunt Audrey. She enjoyed Chris’s corny jokes. Sam will also be deeply missed by her great-aunt Rhoda Krovich. Sam was very artistic and loved to draw and paint for her family. Sam was also a huge fan of the rock band, KISS, and had many friends in the KISS Army. Gene Simmons recently gave Sam a shoutout video on Facebook as well as a beautiful new Axe bass guitar. Family and friends are invited to gather, remember and celebrate Sam’s life on Thursday July 22nd at McCafferty Funeral & Cremation Inc. 6711 Frankford Ave. Phila., PA 19135 (between Unruh & Knorr Sts.) You may visit and comfort Sam’s family during the viewing from 9:30AM-11:00AM. There will be a prayer service in the funeral home at 11:00AM, with cremation to follow.
