Samuel Gangemi

March 8th, 2021

Samuel Gangemi, of North Wales PA, passed away on March 5th, 2021, at age 77. While our hearts are broken, we are comforted in knowing that he did not suffer and he knew how much he was loved. He will live on fondly in our thoughts and hearts as being a kind, loving and thoughtful person whose primary goal was to take care of others.  He was a devoted husband to Kathie for over 54 years and proud father to Linda Smith (partner Sam), Susan Murray (Jack) and Meredith Murray (Brian). Loving Grandfather of Katie Black (Bill), Kelly Schultz (Kurt), Jack Murray, Luke Murray, Ashley Murray and Sarah Murray. Adoring Great Grandfather of Billy, Kaylee, Brooke, Vada, Colton, Chrissy and Bella. Preceding him in death were his parents Samuel and Ruth Gangemi and his siblings, Nancy and Tom.

Sam most enjoyed spending time with his family.  He was blessed to have great memories of fun family vacations, trips to the amusement parks, golf outings with the boys, backyard barbecues, weekend dinners and many family celebrations.  Sam loved his family deeply and they felt that love strongly every time he embraced them.  He put the needs of his family before his own without pause. His family often said when God made Sam, He broke the mold.   Sam was a truly caring person to be emulated.

Sam and Kathie moved to the Village of Neshaminy Falls 7 years ago and have been enjoying a happy retirement since.  Sam is well known in his community for being a helpful hand and friend. He served as Vice-President of the home owners association, Treasurer of the Veterans Association, Helping Hands committee member and bingo caller.  When someone needed a ride to the doctor, church or otherwise, Sam was their man.  He and Kathie enjoyed playing bocce, attending dances at the clubhouse and spending time with friends.

Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing and funeral on Thursday March 11th, from 10:30am – 12:00 noon in Mary Mother of the Redeemer R.C. Church (1321 Upper State Rd, North Wales, PA 19454) There will be a Funeral Mass at 12:00pm with burial to follow in Hillside Cemetery.
