Ronald Lee Knepper

October 22nd, 2020

Ronald Lee Knepper, of Bala Cynwyd, died on October 17th, 2020, at the age of 82. Ron was born to the late Joel and Frances (Snyder) Knepper and raised in Hawthorne, NJ with his late brother Gordon Knepper. Growing up Ron competed in football and went on to play at Montclair State University. Upon
graduating college he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant and served in the US Marine Corps. Following active duty military service Ron began work in the furniture industry in California, ultimately returning to the East Coast and starting his own company, Knepper Associates , in Philadelphia. During the course of over 30 years, Ron employed a number of personnel, helping many to get their career start in contract furniture sales. Ron was devoted to his family and friends, and relished a good story or laugh, usually at the expense of one of those family members or friends! He loved reminiscing with his brother, football buddies, and fellow Marines. Ron greatly enjoyed reading, playing racquetball and squash, cycling, banging on his bongo or handmade1-string-bass, coaching his children and Special Olympics participants in youth sports, mastering the art of woodworking, gardening, cooking, winning a game of backgammon, and biking and golfing with his beloved wife. However, his greatest pride and joy was watching his grandchildren flourish in school and sports, tracking grade point averages and youth water polo, swimming, soccer, and volleyball each weekend as if they were the Olympic finals. He will be sadly missed but forever cherished by his wife Marion, children Wendy, Greg and Joel, stepsons Garrett, Ian, and Hunter, and their spouses and children. Family and friends are invited to attend a brief interment, with military honors, on Monday, November 23rd at 1pm,  at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd Newtown, PA 18940. Please arrive at the cemetery gate by 12:45pm and follow the signs “Funeral Procession Forms Here.” Due to weather and health concerns, a future celebration of life will be planned sometime in 2021.
