Leonard E. Vedro

Leonard (Lee) E. Vedro, of the Mayfair section of Philadelphia, passed away on August 20^th, 2020, at the age of 92.  Beloved husband of Claire Vedro (nee Plocharski) for almost 70 years.  Loving father of David M. Vedro (Kathleen), Stephen E. Vedro and Sharon Wiest (Andy).  Devoted grandfather of Daniel (Emily), David, Jonathan, Ryan, Christina and Caroline.  Great-grandfather to Dylan and Ellie. Lee was a proud Navy veteran of World War II and a 70 year member of American Legion Post 396.  He was also a decorated Eagle Scout and a long-time Boy Scout leader. Visitation with the family will take place at Saint Bernard’s Catholic Church (7341 Cottage Street, Philadelphia, PA 19136) on Thursday, September 3^rd from 9:00AM to 9:45AM.  A funeral mass will follow visitation at 9:45AM.  Graveside service with military honors will be held 11:30AM at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd., Newtown, PA 18940. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Saint Bernard’s Catholic Church.
